Hurricane Irene !

Dear Family and Friends,

I can just write you a short mail.
Hurricane Irene was contact me last night !
You know that we had a hurricane here at the east cost. But we survived it !!!
But the most parts of Manville are flooded by the water. But our house is still standing.
I will send you some pictures of the flooded areas.
It was a big storm yesterday night and I slept the whole night on the couch. (Actually I couldn't sleep the whole night).
I am happy that we are safe.

Dear Family and Friends,

I SAW NEW YORK, I WAS REALLY THERE !!!
Yesterday I went with my Hostdad to New York City. It was amazing, wonderful and great.
Manhattan is so beautiful. And all the people were so nice. And the houses and Buildings are so extremely high.
I saw Time Square, Broadway Blvd., Ground Zero, Central Park, Top of the Rock...and so much more.
Me and my Hostdad drove with the elevator (Fahrstuhl) to the Top of this big tower. (Deswegen der name:Top of the rock). We had a great view. I could see all parts of New York.

I really can't believe it that I was in New York City, but I can say you that it is wonderful.
And I am looking forward to go back to New York. Because my Hostparents go every year in christmas time to New York for Dinner and shopping.
Moreover I go six times more to New York with my hostparents for shopping and watching the city, is that cool???
I think so.

Earthquake!!!

Have you ever experienced a real earthquake???

On Tuesday here in New Jersey was an earthquake.
Actually the earthquake was in Richmond, Virginia.
But it was not just a little earthquake, it was more a fairly strong earthquake.
So the earthquake was also in New York, New Jersey ! , and the Carolina States.

And you want to know : Have you felt the earthquake, Anna ???

My answer: Oh yes i did. It was between 1 and 2 p.m  (13-14 Uhr nachmittags).
I sat on my bed here in Jersey and watched TV. Suddenly my computer started to move itself.
It was crazy ! And my bed was shaking !!!
Yeah it was a little bit strange and it was just a few minutes...
...but it was very exciting.

But everything is fine here.
